The street course, Superstreet, in Slangerup is located next to an area where you can engage in parkour and street basketball/soccer. The skate course is made of concrete, like the mini vert, for example. In addition to the mini vert there are ramps, banks and a quarter pipe made of wood and steel. There is a concrete pyramide and a manual pad that can be moved. Flat bar and ledges/curbs provide a versatile experience and the opportunity to practise your skills when it comes to street skating. The park is great for beginners as well as for skaters with some experience. At these levels, there are great possibilities to improve your skills at Super street.
The architects from KATO x Victoria have designed the new ‘super street’ in collaboration with local people. A number of sponsors have contributed to the project ‘Byg det op’ (build it up). The foundation of the project was a competition in which Danes were encouraged to share proposals to improve their city. ‘Byg det op’ is a collaboration between DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation) and Dansk Arkitektur Center (Danish Architecture Centre) who have partnered with Realdania, Lokale og Anlægsfonden (The Danish Foundation for Culture and Sports) and Statens Kunstfonds Arkitekturudvalg (The Agency for Culture and Palaces) with counselling from COWI.
